Health Services

At Sanostee Day School, we prioritize student health and well-being. Our staff works closely with families to ensure a safe and healthy school environment.
Student Illness Procedures
Students should stay home if they are feeling unwell. If a student becomes ill during the school day, they will be sent to the front office, where a staff member will assess their condition. Parents or guardians will be contacted for pick up, if necessary.
Medication Administration
Sanostee Day School follows the Bureau of Indian Education Medication Administration Policy to ensure safe handling of medications.
- Prescription medications may only be administered if accompanied by a doctor's note with specific instructions.
- Over-the-counter medications cannot be administered by staff or carried by students unless authorized by a doctor’s note.
Medical Emergencies
In the event of a medical emergency, the school will transport the student to the nearest medical facility and notify the parent or guardian as soon as possible. A staff member will remain with the student until a parent or guardian arrives.
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports
We believe in reinforcing positive behaviors through our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports program. Students are recognized for their achievements in academics, behavior, and attendance through school-wide celebrations and incentives.
